PROCESS OF THE WOOD COWBOY HAT
Wood Cowboy Hats originate from one solid log that is
approximately 16- 20 in diameter, 20 long and
weighing in around 200 pounds. The 200 pound log is
transformed into a sculptured piece of wearable art weighing
less than 12 ounces. A log in good condition can produce two
full size hats and two mini-hats; which are transposed from
the centers of the full size hats. To begin the process of the
hat, a chainsaw is utilized to carve the log. The piece of
wood is then processed on a lathe and chiseled down to a
thickness of 3/32. At this point, the wood begins to take
shape into a hat and is placed in a hat bender to be sized
according to individual head sizes and desired brim type. For
the cowboy hat band, the wood is slightly raised and burnished
with another colored wood. The hat is one piece of wood.
Wood Cowboy Hats are custom made for each individual;
therefore, no two hats are ever alike! Hats are available in a
variety of styles and wood types:
* Cowboy Hat Styles- Range Rider Cowboy Hat, Trail Boss Hat or
a regular Cowboy Hat.
* Outback Hat
* Wood- Maple, Ambrosia Maple, Cherry, Walnut or Poplar.
**Availability of the wood varies; accordingly, Maple is the
most available wood in the area. Techniques; such as
ebonizing, is also used to transpose a hat to black in color.
For the sports enthusiast- Logos of your favorite team can
also be burned or painted on the hat!

ORDERING
To order a hat: instructions, along with a special ruler will
be sent to measure your head. Upon completion, mail the
original tracing of your head along with the type of hat,
desired wood, and any other requests by regular mail to Wood
Cowboy Hats.
**Please note: Since hats are made from wood, normal hat sizes
will not work since hats do not bend and have to be formed to
the actual shape of the head.
Included with your purchase are an original hat stand and a
cushioned hat fitter. The cushion provides comfort between
your forehead and the wood. The cushion is removable for
cleaning.
ALL hats are guaranteed to fit.
Instructions: To clean or dust, use a dry soft cloth. Do NOT
use furniture polish or a damp cloth!
